Thursday was my last day spinning with Kenny I probably forgot to post about it because my subconscious was already mourning him..
He noticed me! Spin class with Kenny. I love that dude. I was rocking the stabilization ride when he yelled "Look at my girls over by the door! Do you see how still they are?". Extra motivating. It's so CRAZY....getting singled out by a guy who doesn't even know my name makes me pedal faster, stand up longer and fills me with pride. Weird.
I went to the gym on Thursday, you know. Also, a recipe. I say this because I looked at my MMM stats last night and I am 69th and have logged only 9 workouts. But it was actually ten, so today with ten days left in the month, I have logged enough workouts to hit the double digits. I say this more as an affiramtion than a criticism, because it is too sunny outside to complain.
I surprised myself a little today. In which this week's Featured Body, Evangeline, gets surprising boosts from the Social Workout and Facebook corners of the internet. I'm a little tired. It's been a long week, and I've had a lot to do. My weirdo schedule usually involves weekends and evenings, but not five days in a row like it did this week. I was reaching the crazy place earlier this week, and fully expected to be a bitch on wheels today. Strangely, this did not happen. I think this is due the following three and a half things:
Being sick messes everything up. I have had a hard time getting motivated this month. It's probably a little bit of overtraining, and having life catch up with me, but just when I thought I was going to get back on the workout horse, I got hit with a bug that had me in sweats and under the covers on this past 80-something degree Sunday. I finally got a workout in after a week, and it was awesome.
Ken Moody is retiring! I almost didn't go to the gym today. Eventually I decided I haven't been making enough of an effort, and apparently something is in retrograde, so I dragged myself to Kenny's 1215 Ride class. At which he announced that he would be retiring from fitness. FAIL.
Evangeline 1, Iron Man 0 Tony Stark, you don't have s*@! on me. So what if you're a billionaire engineer with hot cars, hot chicks and a suit of armor stacked with EMPs, rayguns and hologrpahic capabilities? You've also got a bum ticker and a bad moustache.
Working out did not improve my mood today. Normally, I can squash a bad mood with a little exercise. Today, this was not the case. I don't quite know what caused my funk, but going to the gym actually made it worse. And I know exactly why that happened.
I involuntarily pumped my fist in spin class. Very out of character for me, but I was feeling so freaking great it just happened! After class, Beverly, from the bike next to me, told me I inspired her! This was very sweet; I am not a great spinner by any stretch (I am horrible at the standing runs) but man, do I try. So thank you to Beverly for noticing.
See this plateau? I'm jumping off of it.. I've noticed lately that my spin classes seem to be more challenging. For a while, the only instructor that was consistently destroying me was Carl, but Carl is Crunch's spin diva. But these days, no matter whose class I'm taking, I am getting my sweaty money's worth.
Major carbo-loading last night...... Last night I took an Asian Noodle class at Whole Foods. It was really, really fun and I learned a lot. But I also ate a lot! And I ate a lot of noodles (obviously), many of which were pan fried...not my healthiest meal! But I would totally recommend it!
7 Trisucits + No Sleep = Bad Things Yesterday was not entirely fun. I knew I was going to be running around like a crazy person, so I had a plan to make all my activities happen. Work, gym, shower, dinner, show, party, sleep. Basically, the plan worked, but with one minor hitch; I didn't get to eat lunch.
Back in the saddle. With Kenny. Oh my, did I miss spin class! I was smiling like a freak all through class, except for when I was kind of grimacing with pain during whatever that endless 4-count jump song was...... And in strength & alignment, I got a "oooooh, I love how that looks on you!" from the big guy. That's the scoop!
Exciting Title great day!
I am a Rhythm Girl. I wanted to sleep all day today. That might have had a little to do with the beers I drank last night, or the super quiet awesomeness that happens when it snows outside, but mostly I think I'm just tired.
