Catch Up Post: I didn't post about this spin class because I was tired It was last week. it was with Dougie. I was about to throw up at one point, and I'm sure the girl next to me was praying I wouldn't puke on her.
Tuesday's workout is dedicated to Katie. Because I was pretty sure I wasn't going to the gym in the crappy weather outside and I wanted to stay at home and cook because I've been eating more takeout than I should have. But when I finally filtered through the crap in my inbox, which was F-U-L-L because I hadn't actually checked my email for two days (I know right?) I got an email that said:
Go With The Flow seems to be the theme of the week In which this week's Featured Body, Evangeline, gets in the groove, despite everything pulling her away from it. Today, I entered that mythical place gymgoers call "The Zone" for the first time in a long time. My day started with a lot less zing, and I was found I was quite irritable throughout my workday. When this starts to happen I fixate on going to the gym. Going to the gym makes everything better. And if it doesn't, I will likely be too tired to be irritable when all my glycogen is gone.
Today was a mixed bag, but somehow I was active. Ranting follows. The sound of drilling in the apartment above me drove me out of my house today. I normally don't mind noise, but the noise from the drill in the wall that was right next to my television made me unreasonably mad and after about an hour of it I had to get out. I was going to get some groceries eventually, so I figured this would be the time to do it.
trouble. ankle cramps. Somewhere between all my walking/running yesterday and Jess' new favorite buff yoga jam (which is crazy and I had trouble doing it), I hurt my ankle. Although I never sprained my ankle, I figure if it were sprained I'd be in a lot more pain. The conclusion I came to is ankle cramps (I googled it, it's a real thing). Problem is, I need it to heal by Sunday for the half-marathon.
I Hate The Weatherman. Or, Tomorrow Is Going To Make Or Break Me So.. Tomorrow's the big day. I was hoping to have crossed the finish line by now but I've got a few things to cross of my list. Until last week, I thought I'd been pretty diligent with this challenge. I started out measured and strong. I made a plan and I stuck to it.
done. I'm keeping it short and sweet since I have important business to handle (dinner, tv, and killercadoogan). Three major aspects of today's workout included: 1) TWO UNASSISTED DIPS!!! 2) 50 push-ups 3) final class (Ride with Dougie). I actually liked him!!! YAY!!! Ok...now dinner :-)
I cannot stop thinking about SoCal bacon cheeseburgers... I managed to leave work on time today and hit the gym early-ish. When I went yesterday, a trainer had two guys on working alternately on the pull up machine and another one nearby, so I couldn't get on for a bit, and I almost missed my spin class. Today, I got to there almost an hour beforehand, just in case.
Paleo attempt Day 1 So I've been wanting to try paleo for a little while but every morning I'd wake up and see something in the fridge I wanted that was definitely not paleo and would tell myself I'm not ready to give up all the foods I like and maybe tomorrow I'll start. But this morning I thought if I keep telling myself that, I'll never take to plunge. So I did it, somewhat. For breakfast I had scrambled eggs.
I make awesome faces when I work out. I do. Ask Fraidy and msh258. I pucker up, grunt, stick out my tongue and everything. I'm pretty sure some super huge veins were popping out of my neck too. Yup.
