Is it Lame That I Spent My Birthday Working Out? Yesterday was my 33rd birthday. Since all my closest friends seem to hate each other at the moment, I decided I'd rather spend it alone than to try to get people who are currently at odds with each other together for drinks or whatnot and have to deal with all that stress and tension.
I'm Pretty Sure "X-TREME!!!" Products Went Out at the End of the Last Century, but I'll Give This a Shot Anway. So I worked out like, a lot yesterday. 3 and 1/2 hours spread out over the course of the day. An hour of P90X in the morning before work, 30 minutes of walking around my office building on my morning and afternoon breaks, 30 minutes of intervals at the gym after work and 90 minutes of hot yoga after the intervals.
Hot Yoga Hot Yoga
Bis, Tris and Hot Yoga Yup. Another uninspiring post. Blah.
Bis, Tris and Hot Yoga Title describes it all. Managed to knock out 3 sets of 10 unassisted dips to take me up to 4 for the feat. Ignore the count of 11 that's currently on there, I entered them incorrectly the first time. That's pretty much it. For whatever reason, I'm completely exhausted right now so I think I'm going to bed.
Hot Yoga 90 minutes of hot yoga.
Yoga Breakthroughs The continuing adventures of this week's "Featured Body," Matty_G_Fresh. When he's not making videos about locker room etiquette or singing about his diet, he's achieving personal yoga greatness... So do you ever have one of those yoga sessions where you might have a particular pose that you've struggled with and struggled with and struggled with when all of a sudden you're just able to do it perfectly? I had that happen to me last night on FOUR different moves. I think I mentioned a few post ago about how I finally managed to get into Crow and hold it for like 3 or 4 seconds. Well that was with a bolster/safety net in place to keep me from hurting myself. Last night, without a bolster I got into Crow and held it for close to 10 seconds and I wasn't really struggling to hold it either. Small movements of my palms and fingers were all I needed to keep it in place. It was a weird, but awesome feeling. Who knows? Maybe in a few months I'll be working on Side Crow or even a handstand?
Bis and Tris and Yoga; Oh Mys! So this week I'm starting more targeted weight training, ie, working just a couple of muscle groups at a time instead of doing full upper body workouts and yoga all the time. Today I did 30 minutes of biceps and triceps. Nothing too strenuous as I got to the gym late and wasn't able to take the time I wanted to before hot yoga, but it was still a decent workout.
The One Where I Wish I Could Afford a Massage Therapist So I did weights and hot yoga again last night. Good workouts both. My flexibility is improving a lot. I was able to do Camel pose which I've never done before and it feels like I may have been even closer to succeeding with a side angle bind.

PHENOMENAL HOT YOGA TURNOUT!!!...Itty Bitty Studio Space. As I'm sure everyone else on SW experienced, there was a definite upswing in class participation today.
Bad Eating + Hot Yoga = Blearghy Workout Yeah, so the department where I work is buried under 20+ lbs. of really good chocolates, plus numerous other goodies sent to us by the attorneys that we work with. Not. Good.
Catchup Workout Post #2 Hot Yoga!!! My flexibility seems to be improving greatly. My extended side angle pose and my half moon pose are kicking ass!
Deja Vu All Over Again Hot yoga at the Y. I seem to be gaining a decent amount of flexibility, but I shouldn't have gotten a spot right in front of the mirror as it made it difficult to ignore how ridiculous I look doing it. Plus I feel bad for the girl behind me who had to stare at my ass all class. Sorry. ;o)
Back to Hot Yoga After a Two Week Hiatus Amazingly, my muscles didn't seize up and I was actually able to do as well if not better than I did the last time I took the class. It kind of surprised me seeing as how I missed two weeks due to sickness one week and unforeseen events the next. Not to mention the 3 Thanksgiving dinners I had over the course of last week. :oD
Warm Yoga Now Time For a Beer... ...because it's my best friend's birthday today. If I play it uber-close to the vest with my debit card and bring along my remaining 5 bucks in laundry money, I might be able to get 2 beers plus tips, one for each of us. Thank goodness it's $2.75 pint night at The Flying Saucer. Also, thank goodness he's got more friends than just me who can buy his drinks. :oD
November Starts Off With a 2 Hour Butt-Kicker. Also, I Got a Book! After taking Sunday off to recover from all the bad food I had eaten at the Halloween Party on Saturday, I wanted today to really kick things back into high gear. So I ended up doing 30 minutes of weights, followed by 90 minutes of Hot Yoga.
17th Workout of the Challenge: Ouch at Both 90F and 49F (Also a Feat Question) I started off my workouts with 90 minutes of Hot Yoga (I might have broken a few speed limits to make it to the gym on time after work, but we'll keep that between us, shall we?) with Kerrin. I learned tonight that taking an entire week off from Yoga of any kind (went out of town for a few days) is not a good idea. I felt like I was back in my first class lo those many (2) weeks ago
13th Workout of the Challenge: Yoga 3-Peat/Finally Meeting a Fellow SW-er in Person/Soccer Since I had a late soccer game tonight, I decided to take a short lunch and leave work early in order to check out the Wednesday night Hot Yoga class at the Y before the match.
