Yogalebrity Alert in Amagansett
Erika Halweil of Mandala Yoga in Amagansett teaches a popular yoga class that has started shutting people out because they run out of space -- now that it's peak bikini season. (Get there early or suffer mat rage). It's really just the first half of the Ashtanga primary series, but the fashionable ladies of the East End can't get enough. Last weekend, students included Joni of Joni's, of Montauk healthy wrap fame, and yogalebrity Christy Turlington, sweating, but still looking better than anyone else will ever look in their life. Erika adjusted Christy a few extra times, but wouldn't you?

I don't need bikram yoga
Yoga class today. The room was pretty warm, and I was literally dripping in sweat. All over. There's no point fighting it. It's 90 something degrees, it's inevitable. Screw bikram, I bring the sweat anyway.

Dehydration is not my friend.
Did an even paced run. Planning to do my hard run tomorrow morning before Muay Thai class. Yoga was awesome as usual. Sauna after.
Feeling really dehydrated today. Been busy running around and not drinking water. :(

Tell me all about it...
Took a different Yoga class today at Crunch. It was good and hard and very sweaty. I swear I sweat more than anyone in Yoga classes that I start to feel kinda self-conscious...like why am I the only one dripping?! Sometimes I have to skip doing crow pose bc there is no way I could balance my knees on my arms with that much sweat!

Definitely feeling a little out of sorts
First yoga class in almost a week, and I felt a bit more wobbly than usual. Not sure if it was the hiatus or the fact the instructor was putting lots of emphasis on making sure our pelvis was tilted forward. That automatically made all the poses harder. I did a steady paced, easy jog.

Had the day off to comb the city with my friend H who is visiting.
HAD to get my workout in though. I got to the gym at 6:30 to do some Yoga with one of the fighters. I surprisingly did ok considering I havent taught in a really long time. I also practiced along with her. 1hr and 15min.

Sharing Yoga practice
Hadn't been to Ambyr's yoga class in a really long time. Its one of the awesome ones. I went early and did a 3 mile interval run. Been trying to slowly increase my speed and distance on my runs. Its so brutally boring, which makes it difficult for me. Then did 20 min of bag work. Working on my switch kicks.

Today the junkfood out weighs the workouts.
I skipped my run and called today a "sort of rest day". In which I did nothing except Amrit's Yoga class. Class was so packed. Crunch needs to get their act together and have more early morning Yoga classes, not just bc I am in need of them but bc Amrit's classes are so ridiculously packed, we're mat to mat, people's mats are overlapping..I mean come on!

best yoga class ever?
It was a great class in general, but a few random things made it memorable. First cerie from 30 rock was in my class. Second, my instructor squeezed my butt to show me what muscle i needed to be working during half moon pose. I almost bust out laughing. Anyways, very entertaining end to an otherwise annoying day.
