Modern Yoga
Tara Stiles Is The New Tracy Anderson
Tara Stiles, as we've noted before, is a new kind of yogi, all slick and modern with not even the faintest whiff of patchouli about her. We've also noted that she's really, really skinny. And this week, she's out with her new book Slim, Calm, Sexy, which promises to make you skinny too. Yoga Dork aptly notices the 3-word title just so happens to be "downsized and palatable enough for women’s magazine splash ads, and 3-minute morning show bits." All the slickness isn't necessarily bad, but it's certainly a long way from Bhagavan Das. That said, without having read the book, I nonetheless have two GIANT complaints (one of which has to do with the cover above):

Tracy Anderson's ALS Benefit Bootcamp
This Saturday, should you find yourself in the Hamptons, you can get in a three-hour bootcamp with Tracy Anderson, or a 90-minute spin class with Marion Roaman of Ride the Zone, or a yoga class with Jessica Bellofatto of KamaDeva Yoga. If you still have energy after all that, there's also a tennis tournament. This extravaganza of toning and exertion is all part of Hopes4ALS, a fundraiser for Project A.L.S. a non-profit working to find treatments and cures for A.L.S. Tickets are $300. Should you prefer to simply gawk at Tracy Anderson and the celebs major and minor who will likely turn out for the event, spectator tickets are $100. Juice bar, food, and wine included. Details after the jump.

Tracy Anderson Glad Madonna Dumped Her
Just a little bit of celebrity-trainer gossipy silliness to start your day off right. You may recall that back in October Madonna unceremoniously ditched her long-time trainer Tracy Anderson. This week, Tracy's in the UK's Star, explaining that she's way over the whole Madonna thing:
"Gone are the days I give myself to a celebrity. Madonna was my priority for three years but that's not why I set out to do this. Now I have a long list of people who I design [fitness programs] for, but my time is now spent on my company. I can't just be training a celebrity. I didn't do 11 years of research and development for that."
My only hope is that more bootleg videos of her "research and development" will be released soon.

Madonna Is Adding A Whole New Floor to Her Townhouse For Her Gym
What do you do if you're really into working out, really rich, and own a fancy townhouse on the UES with a little airspace to spare? Duh, you build another floor and turn it into a kickin' gym. Which is what Madonna is reportedly doing as part her New York townhouse renovation. (Other renovation features: A wine cellar, a hair salon, a luggage room, 10 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms...) Now that Madonna and Tracy Anderson are on the outs, she may need other accessories for her gym. For her consideration, I suggest the following fantasy home gym items:

More importantly, Gwyneth reveals she has a post workout kale juice habit! Note: If Gwyneth does it, your friends can't laugh at you! And file away also the fact that Gwynnie consumes various powders ("Move" and "Nourish") created by celebrity nutritionist Dr. Alejandro Junger in her Almond milk breakfast shake. Ah, the incestuous world of the fiterati: Earnest reveal of effective supplement, or calculated product placement, or both?

Jennifer Aniston Eats All Her Food From Tiny Jars
Heaven help us, "The Baby Food Cleanse" is here. Reports are that Jennifer Aniston wanted to slim down before filming Just Go With It, (cause you know, she was getting really portly) and Tracy Anderson put her on a special diet: Baby food. Apparently, on Anderson's orders, Aniston ate 14 portions of puréed food a day, followed by a "regular" dinner. She lost 7 pounds. And this officially confirms that both she and Tracy Anderson are bonkers.
