Build Your Plank Prowess
In one of the greatest acts of buffness ever witnessed on Social Workout, body electric once held plank for 15 minutes. (I feel buff when I hold it for like 90 seconds). For most of us, five minutes of plank would be amazing, and the video below is all about getting you there. For the easily bored, good news — you get to shift a tiny bit every 15 seconds. If the video soundtrack isn't exactly revving your engines, plug in spindig's awesome five minute plank playlist.

Workout
Waking up from a sleepy savasana
It was tough to get up this morning. Ran BEFORE Yoga. Yup. It was good run too. Love them freakin Vibrams. I swear they have changed my life! Msh, when we doing our run together?? Yoga class was good, for some reason I skip Amrit's balancing sequence lately. I also opted not to go into Tripod today...the class was too crowded!
Afternoon Stretch
Love the Flow
"Back to the one Vinyasa Heat class at SF Crunch that I can truly say I love. Very rhythm and ritual w/ a steadfast, calming undercurrent of count-of-five breathing....Like coming home."

Snapshot
Kathleen is a Candidate for Gym Rats Anonymous
Every day, we give you a snapshot of one fellow striver in fitness. We ask personal questions, they boldly answer. Today's snapshot: Kathleen, aka spindig.
- What's your number one workout spot? A toss-up between the gym and outside. The gym enables outside.
- What's the healthiest thing you eat? I try to eat an apple a day. Organic Mutsus when I can get them.
- What's the best thing in your gym bag? A recent gift from a fellow cyclist, multicolor SpokeLits for the nighttime ride home. They change colors from red to green to blue to yellow to white, etc. Very laser light show (technically, they're LED). I've had so many people ask me where I got them. Best of all, they're a fun way to be safe while riding in the dark.
Practical Eating
Spindig's Anchovies and Broccoli
Spindig had a British Mom who always followed recipes. "Her approach rubbed off," she says. "I almost always follow recipes, unless I wing something which I then immediately forget. A recipe that I haven't made in a while, but is a favorite, uses one ingredient that I hate and one that I love: Anchovies & broccoli. I don't like anchovies on pizza, salad — basically on anything except for in tapenade, which is kind of what this is."
(Eds. Note: Got a recipe for our Practical Eating series? Something healthy and life-affirming, yet make-able after work or workout? A dinner, a brown bag lunch, or a smoothie? Send word to recipes@socialworkout.com.)

First off: THANKS SPINDIG FOR COMING OUT IT WAS NICE MEETING YOU! You got a fan in me :)
So after bartending, then going to the after hours bar where the bartenders drink, chatting it up with some British guy who, for reasons unexplained, kept pulling condoms out of his coat, then traipsing to my buddy's place for more shenanigans and winding down, I thought I'd take it easy today.
