Loss of depth perception is not good when someone is trying to punch/kick you.
Ever have a yoga instructor who teaches class in a voice in which people might think a yoga instructor is supposed to sound like? That was my experience this morning at 6:30am. It twas a bit unchallenging but restorative. I have mixed feelings since I am trying out Yogaworks SOHO.

morning workout: crappy cardio. I just couldn't get into it today. my calves were so sore! I did a pretty lazy set. Restorative Yoga class to follow. Felt soooooooo good.
afternoon: Noon muay thai. Uhmm...tech sparring with no gear?! SCARY but it worked out just fine. I caught a knee in my calf but that was all. People who normally try to kill me were actually working nice and easy.

Noon: Muay Thai -tech sparring...no one tried to kill me! No new injuries. Though I got teeped in my sunburn. OW.

Tech sparring in noon class today. Some of the rounds were good for me..but then I got with this guy who was just pummeling me with body shots. Could hardly get in anything! So humbling. He kept hitting me with the left hook then moved to the side to kick me. RAWRR.

Noon class -leg sparring -bruised again! People need to wear knee pads, please!
Sparring session later in the day -didn't go as well as I wanted it to. Bruised the ball of my left foot doing a teep into an elbow. OW. Sparring is humbling.

Morning: 25min run, 20min stairmill, 20min elliptical. 30min padwork. 20min sauna. AWESOME!
Evening: Muay Thai padwork class, teeps all day. Kali 2 stick patterns, Muay Thai tech sparring -teep counter drills and tech sparring. No clinching -YAYYY!

A rest day followed by an ass beating.
OOOHHH. Guess what I did yesterday?! Slept til 9:30am -yes that is sleeping in for me! AND..I DID NOT WORK OUT! I saw on my counter that I had pretty much worked out 18 of the 19 days of March on Friday and thought it would be great to take Saturday off! The night before I had really thought I might end up at the gym but I fought myself to sleep in. Walked around ALL day though.

Ok so my goal to do lunch time work outs is somewhat unrealistic right now. However, I am goin to wake up early everday this week to work out since daylight savings and also to set a good habit for myself and my whole running thing.

Sparring is really humbling.
Tuesdays used to be my killer brutal days where I took every class! Now they are like...super kawawa getting my ass kicked sparring days.
I took another Yoga class at OM. Although I enjoyed it and thought it was fun, I felt a bit unchallenged. UGH. I am sure I will be back sporadically but not regularly.
