Mandy Ingber: Musical Yogi to the Stars
I first encountered Mandy Ingber in an unusually good Self magazine spread getting all bendy with her client Jennifer Aniston. Ingber is a yogi to the stars, with requisite DVD, and at the moment she's on tour (as celebrity yogis will do these days) with Self's multi-city Workout in the Park series. (I don’t mean to be all pluggy, but I’ve been to the Wokout in the Park before, and it’s really kind of this awesome festival of spandex and squatting, and proceeds go toward curing cancer.) Anyway, Mandy was gracious enough to ditch Jennifer for a few minutes to hang with me and answer some questions....
What is it like to be a yoga celebrity? It seems like a dichotomy, doesn't it? It is a total surprise. I was not expecting to become famous for teaching yoga. I used to be an actress, and left that profession to teach, so it's kind of funny that it turned out this way. I guess the pressure is on to be more relaxed! And to stay off of coffee.

Body Sculpture
For the sake of the upcoming holiday party season and one particularly gorgeous sleeveless top, I gave in to vanity and tried the "Sculpt Sexy Curves" workout from latest issue of Self magazine. It was quite enjoyable, especially because I didn't have to preoccupy myself with designing a workout and had some new moves I had never tried before.

I did the Self strength workout again today, I am determined to firm up my triceps.
Also tried to increase my plank time and did a few random plies and arabesques around the house, because every little bit helps.
How a pet guinea pig will make you healthier
Deterred from the outside by rain, I tried yet another Netflix instant. I'm becoming a fan of anything led by Ellen Barrett (usually the Self videos, but a couple of others). I find her way of - teaching? leading? never sure what to call it- very easy to follow.
