Pull Ups

Farmer Dan does pull ups and the amazing woman with one leg does downward facing dog!

I have to give it up (woo woo) for the people I did not expect to see at the gym in the last few days.  It is not uncommon to see a farmer in Montana, but to see one at the gym is about as rare as the tenderloin at the Rib and Chop house.  But there he was, in his denim bib overalls, pulling himself up on the "gravitron".  Sweet!

Working out did not improve my mood today.

Normally, I can squash a bad mood with a little exercise. Today, this was not the case. I don't quite know what caused my funk, but going to the gym actually made it worse. And I know exactly why that happened.

When I found out the weather was manageable today, I took advantage of the fact that I had overtime and got out of work about an hour early. My plan was to hit the gym to knock out my last pull up and dip practices, and then to run outside until I finished my remaining unplugged cardio. And that happened. It went like this:

I Hate The Weatherman. Or, Tomorrow Is Going To Make Or Break Me

So.. Tomorrow's the big day. I was hoping to have crossed the finish line by now but I've got a few things to cross of my list. Until last week, I thought I'd been pretty diligent with this challenge. I started out measured and strong. I made a plan and I stuck to it.

I feel like crap.

I've had a headache all day long. I can't tell if it's a migraine or from caffeine deprivation.

Started the day with squats. Did pull ups and dips again today. Same as yesterday, but I struggled a bit. Might have been because the headache was coming on. Did a Ride class with Rihanna today. I say this because Carl played Rihanna for 45 minutes. Nothing else.

I did pull ups and dips again. Yup.

There was some debate today, as to whether doing pull ups before cardio was the best route for me to go. I think the more glycogen I have on hand the better. The other party offered the idea that warming up my muscles first would give me a better shot at accomplishing this one pull up.

I have mixed feelings about the Twofer Weekend

The part of me that is so unwilling to go outside into the chilly spring weather is thrilled that I can do the last of my sprints in half the time. The part of me that is so close to fnishing everything without the doubled numbers feels a little like I'm copping out if I use it to finish my feats.

How can one get MORE sleep and be MORE tired?

I am cranky today. I got an hour more sleep than I usually do, and somehow, I'm exhausted. I struggled to stay awake in a meeting at work today, and while work was actually fairly uneventful, I am supremely irritable. Usually, going to the gym helps me work that out. Today, the gym did not help me work that out.

A workout in two parts

I spent most of my morning camped out in front of my laptop catching up on the world in general, and started getting antsy around noon. And to the gym I went. I would like to say that I was brave enough to return to running outdoors, but the weather was just a little too chilly for me at that hour. A wuss, I know. I'm gonna have to suck it up if it doesn't warm up soon.

I cannot stop thinking about SoCal bacon cheeseburgers...

I managed to leave work on time today and hit the gym early-ish. When I went yesterday, a trainer had two guys on working alternately on the pull up machine and another one nearby, so I couldn't get on for a bit, and I almost missed my spin class. Today, I got to there almost an hour beforehand, just in case.
