4 miles around Prospect Park
I LOVE living next to the park.
Went out yesterday for a run. Did the 3.35 mile path inside the park, plus some sidewalkage outside the park. Listened to Savage Lovecast. Good day, good day.

The Freegan Foragers Guide to Prospect Park
A rare foodie freegan, Zaac Chaves says no to day-old dumpster donuts and yes to all things wild and nutritious. For dinner in his corner of Brooklyn: stinging nettles, mulberries, hazelnuts, and morel mushrooms, all found foraging in Prospect Park. Need evidence that free can be delicious and nutritious? Our friends over at Well + Good NYC got Zaac to divulge his recipe for a rich artichoke stew (his version, made with 100% foraged ingredients).
The Feralicious Challenge may be over, but wild eating goes on. So attention, all you untamed Brooklynites: Zaac leads regular Prospect Park foraging tours/expeditions, and the next one is this Saturday. Details after the jump. (Reminder, Manhattanites: Central Park foraging tours with Wildman Steve Brill go down all summer long).

- Best Yoga Studio: Pure Yoga (you've loved it for ages)
- Best Grocery Delivery: Basis Foods (in case you didn't believe gotigers2003 when she told you)
- Best Yogurt: Mlilk Thistle Organic Dairy Farm (we'll have to include them in our next yogurt deathmatch)

Your Playlists
k.ben's Mellow Run Mix
When she lived in Brooklyn, k.ben says, this was her running playlist.
It got me from my apartment to Prospect Park, around the 3 mile loop, and back. It is evidence of the fact that I run a pretty mellow pace (between a 10 and an 11-minute mile); and it is evidence most of all of the fact that I have no idea what the kids are listening to. (Does anyone even know who Bill Withers is anymore?) But it's very listenable, in sort of an easy listening way, I admit. The last few songs, from Bill Withers on, were nice when I'd not want to run home and I'd just walk, or when i'd have time for a little stretching and yoga after. Sun salutations to Lovely Day are AWESOME.
Her full liner notes, and two extra tracks (too cool for playlist.com) after the jump.
Late Breaking
One Million Runners Running
It's tomorrow: One million people running together, either physically or virtually, in Nike's Human Race. In New York, things kick off at 8:00 A.M. in Prospect Park. Or just strap on your Nike+. Crazily enough, it's not too late to join them. Just in case you hadn't made your Saturday plans yet....
Workout
Sept Day 24, 99 days on the countdown and Maculele yo' FACE!
So I only gave one pair of shoes away so I am back down to 23 things. BUT if any ladies on here are shoe sizes 6-7, I have lots of great barely worn shoes to give away! Also if you're a dress size 2, which I will never be again...HOLLA! I have awesome stuff, I promise!

Catching Up
Another catch-up post after my busy end week. Saturday morning was pretty active. Started out by completing the weights I'd missed on Friday as well as adding a couple of extra exercises to make it a full workout.
A run in Prospect Park--any of you there today?
Today I decided to embrace the nice weather and forgo the gym for Prospect Park. One lap around, eyeing up each runner by and wondering if they would be blogging later as well. So maybe New York summer weather isn't as bad as I thought it was...

Day 17 and 18: Glad to say goodbye
(oops... original post had days incorrectly marked 18 and 19. sorry!)
Friday was the last day of my stretch in Manhattan and it feels like a relief... No more being a guest, no more being away from home, no more feeling transient... but also no more walking to work everyday, which I really loved.
