CIRCUIT TRAINING AND THE RUNNIN' AND HOLLERIN' WORKOUT

I had morning appointments, so I couldn't get the workout in first thing, and this led to procrastination. But I did manage to get it in! Power 90 Sculpt 3/4 plus 100 crunches. I like doing circuit training on a show day because it pumps me up without tiring me out.

Post-dancing cardio whoopee

In between baking and decorating a fabulous three-chocolate birthday cake for my friend Elden, I got in a good cardio session plus 200 crunches. I was surprised not to be more tired after Sunday's late night of partying, but my legs weren't even sore from all the dancing in high heels.

NUMBERS

86 push-ups, 101 squats, 100 crunches, 12 sets of lifting, stretching, plus a few other odds and ends. Too bad my costume isn't sleeveless, because my arms are pumped. And I am energized and ready to holler. Figaro #5 tonight!

I am still high from yesterday's long run and circuit training. Since I've been at the opera festival, it's been a real challenge to keep eating right and working out the way I should, but I feel like I've finally turned the corner on that.

SWEAT = HAPPINESS

I have been cranky all day. Let's not go into it. But I did walk where I need to go, and even though I didn't get my workout in first thing in the morning as planned (which contributed heartily to the crank factor) I did just complete a shortened version of my cardio, all I had time for before my show tonight. And I feel much, much better for gettin' all sweaty wit'it.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CIRCUIT!

In between making basil garlic aioli potato salad, guacamole, and brandy vanilla peach cobbler for the 4th of July bash, I got in my circuit training and 100 crunches. Tomorrow, it's a salad day.

THE 50-MINUTE DIET

I woke up feeling fat and sluggish and ugly this morning. Did my cardio routine with lots of plyo, followed by 200 crunches. Funny, now I feel strong and tall and slender.

The 50-minute diet. I love how that works!

IT'S NOT ALWAYS SEXY

Lifting and crunches. Nothing sexy, just me getting out of bed and getting it done, first thing in the morning.

HAPPILY STINKY

I got up too late after post-show revelry to run this morning, but I did manage to do my cardio DVD and 200 crunches. I also thought about the lovely frozen custard I had last night and decided to add on a segment of jumping jacks, just to see how many I could do before maxing out.

PRE-SHOW WORKOUT PLUS A LITTLE TMI

Tonight we open The Marriage of Figaro at Des Moines Metro Opera, and my original plan was for today to be a day off. Thing is, I get antsy. I need to move a little bit on the day of a show. Besides, there will be revelry after the singing, and it might be better for tomorrow to be the day off.
