Your New Career in Surfing and Yoga Awaits

  • Wish you were surfing instead of sitting in your cubicle? Maybe surfing graduate school is the answer! Australia Maritime College is offering a PhD Scholarship for a surfer/physicist. The degree is in "Wave Pool Design," and to get the scholarship you have to be able to "conduct the necessary physical and numerical experiments to ensure that wave surfability can be optimised at minimal energy expense," aka you have to be able to surf and do math. Applications due March 25th. (via Outside).
  • If you can't seek refuge in grad school, maybe yoga school in Hong Kong is the answer. In a page out of our "From Banker to Yogi by way of Skinny Boyfriend" book, today's Wall Street Journal reports on a Morgan Stanley analyst who bailed on the biz in Asia and went into personal training/yoga instead. Though at the end of the article she pretty much admits she's poor now, but at least she has her health.
