Yoga Culture

The Greenwich-Hamptons-Manhattan Yoga Circuit

Gina Norman and Stan Woodman taught yoga in Manhattan for a decade, spent a few years teaching both in-season and off-season in the Hamptons, then transitioned to Greenwich where they founded Kaia Yoga. "When we were transitioning," Stan says, "There were some days when I would teach privates in each place." In part, because some of their clients had houses in the Hamptons, apartments in the city, and houses in Greenwich. Green Fitness Studio Sneak Preview

Our friends over at Well + Good NYC just got back from a tour of the new "Green Fitness Studio," opening December 21st in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The massive new gym, the brainchild of Rachel Devlin, a yogi and community health advocate, is fully green — all the way from the recycled tire rubber flooring to the self-powered and remanufactured equipment. Their juice bar is locally sourced, the outdoor workout area and the glass atrium yoga studio sound beautiful, plus Well + Good ferreted out another great feature: Sliding scale membership fees based on income. Take a look.
