95 degrees and my new motivation... Misters in the park across the street from my house.
In which this week's Featured Body, Llaves, hits the park and discovers a giant water pipe spewing delightful cooling mist....
Today was annoying at work. General annoying things but annoying none the less. So around 5:30 I ran out so I could at least get a little sun. I hadn't left the office since I had gotten there at 8:30 so to my surprise, it was HOT!

I updated yesterday’s workout posting, because I went to the gym for a second time in one day for a Hip Hop class last night! Similar to my first experience at Zumba, I was a little self conscious and uptight at first, but then I started focusing on the steps and got into it. There were about 8 of us in class, and the studio it was in has glass windows so everyone walking by could look right in.

Hump Day, in which I continue Flowing.
In which this week's Featured Body, Evangeline, maintains her cool, both in yoga and in the face of computer errors.
Even though I just wrote this epic post about my zen yoga workout and accidentally closed the window I was writing in Command+Shift+T didn't recover anything but the title. The very abbreviated and less-inspired-but-still-zen-and-not-cursing-the-world version follows.
So I've mentioned before that I mean to do more yoga. I do. It just never seems to work out.

It's no secret my post-Feralicious month was rough. I'm not quite sure why (overtraining, Mercury in retrograde, and general stress levels are all popular theories) but April ended up kinda sucking. But April is over, I am made up my mind this weekend to get over it. I've been hobbling into spin classes in the last few days, and I had intended to do hit Danielle's 545 Ride at Crunch tonight, but best laid plans apparently fall apart. I, however, refused to get into my April doldrums and did not.

It Wasn't Me, It Was My Friends
This week's Featured Body, michlny, on the wonder of friends who share your fitness interests.
When I get together with friends, I always try to fit it around fitness/activity. So, it needs to be after the gym or it needs to include a workout or a walk, bike, hike, etc. If we're going to eat, it needs to be someplace with healthy options.

But He Was So Healthy....
In which this week's Featured Body, michlny, reflects on the complexities of health.
The final straw. An office tragedy. A co-worker, recently passed because of cancer. The response of many was similar to responses and comments I always get when I stress the important of eating healthy and exercise.

Is It Scientifically Proven - Men Smell Worse Than Women??
In which this week's Featured Body, michlny, explores the great and varied smells of the gym.
Because all I know is that as much as I LOVE having the men in my group fitness classes....when they show up, their sweat seems to splatter on me and the room smells, the kinds of smells I have never smelled before.

I walk....some people take the subway, a cab, a bus, bike or drive....I walk.
Every single day, I walk to work. Today included. Yes, there was a monsoon outside and I was walking on sponges. The weatherman said "some showers" but failed to mention the deluge that reared it's head during my walk....I didn't wear my rainboots...BUT I kept on.

So excited!!
In which this week's Featured Body, mindyse, anticipates a great session with one of the best coaches she has ever met.
I am so excited for this, I can hardly wait for 5:30 to arrive. I started rowing in 1995, just dinking around, nothing serious. When I was in PT school, I decided to join Marquette University's Rowing Club. They had a new coach that year, a recent grad from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and he really knew what he was doing. We were fast, really fast and even though we were a small club, we were pretty competitive with varsity level colleges.
