Chef Nane Kimijan Rocks the Bosu Ball
In the following video you will see an extremely strong man doing remarkable and sort of fun-looking things with Bosu balls and other basic gym gear. If you watch the whole thing, and I'll confess it gets sort of repetitive, I think you will also detect a sense of humor in his routines. This is Nane Kimijan, who was born in Slovakia, and realized at 14 he had two passions: fitness and cooking. Nane can knock off 42 pull-ups in two minutes and run 100 meters in 11 seconds, but you should seem him chop garlic! Apparently, Nane apprenticed for seven years as a chef in Venice, Italy, before coming to America to cook at the Teatro Goldoni, one of Washington D.C.'s top restaurants. The world is a strange and wonderful place....

It's Friday on the strange sub-tropical island that is Manhattan these days, and we've got dance on our mind. Fitness Fixation is to blame for posting a lovely pas de deux video this morning, which made us hungry for more, which reminded us that Pilobolus is at the Joyce Theater just now for their annual run (until August 8th). This, in turn, prompted a Pilobolus video search, which surfaced the following, (which is ancient, but maybe you've never seen it either), and which is now, officially, our favorite car advertisement of all time....

Oh Hell Yeah
So, there are two reformer moves I've been working on in my own personal practice: the first is an advanced exercise called tendon stretch. Tendon stretch requires a lot of hamstring flexibility (something I did *not* have when I started pilates five years ago) and some upper body-core connections that can be tricky to find when your head is inverted.
