13 Beers in 13 Miles
"Several of you told me that I was 'going to die' if I drank 13 beers while running the San Francisco Half Marathon. I did not die. I puked three times, blacked out for miles 11 and 12, and needed five hours to finish. This is my story..."

W. Morning workout, 34:33. Tai Chi warmup, 2-minute cardio. "Fast & furious" workout (part 2), 3 sets @ 30 seconds each: 1) weighted step ups, 2) weighted lunges, 3) mountain jumpers (hate those), 4) mountain climbers, 5) dumbbell alternating shoulder presses, and 6) V sit ups. Stretches, and 5 sun salutes. Did those yesterday, too, but forgot

Warm sunshine while climbing the great Mount
Tu. 38:21 climb up Mt. Rouse. It was an easier climb this time. Kept a good pace...and, wow, the weather was beautiful. It's amazing how a little warm sunshine on your face can alter your mood.
Great day today. One morning client, did heaps of yardwork, then one late afternoon client.

Forget Dessert, Save Your Calories for Incredibly High-Alchol Beer
It seems the case against high fructose corn syrup isn't all clear cut. Marion Nestle, a highly respected nutrition author and proponent of a whole food diet, disputes the latest study about corn syrup making you fatter than sugar. Hm, maybe the answer is just to cut down on all forms of sugar and find alternative means of indulgence. One possibility, the new "Sink the Bismarck" Scottish beer, with 41% alcohol by volume. FYI, that's like eight times as alcoholic as a Bud.

Birthday = Biking, Beer, Crossfit + Soccer
So when most folks get into their late 20's, birthdays mostly consist of meeting up at a bar, hanging at a club, or having dinner a big overwhelming group. Well, that's just not my style.

Wisconsin Has More Bars than Grocery Stores
In most states, grocery stores outnumber bars. But there's a special area in the upper Midwest — dubbed the "beer belly of America" by the folks who compiled the map, floatingsheep.org — where beer is just down the block, but you'll have to set your sights further afield if you want broccoli. The U.S. average is 1.52 bars per 10,000 people. In North Dakota, it's 6.54 bars per 10,000 people. Click through for a closer look at the map (via Outside).
