Join the Social Workout Climb to the Top Team
By late February you're going to need to shake up your winter workout routine. And a skyscraper stair climb definitely counts as a shakeup. Sign up for the Social Workout Climb to the Top team, and on Sunday, February 28, you can take the stairs all the way to the top of Rockefeller Center. That's 66 flights, fyi.
Climb to the Top is a fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. It's $50 to join the team ($40 if you use the case sensitive discount code EDM2). If climbing to the top of the Rockefeller building sounds bad, but supporting MS sounds good, you could also just donate. We have a team thanks the valiant efforts of @herenow. Now that he's done the heavy lifting of registering us, he'd love someone else to take over as team captain. So sign up! Be captain! MS and a good workout are both good causes! (If you're a champion willing to captain our climb, shoot an email to editorial@socialworkout.com)

Mega Lulu Yoga Tweet Up
New Yorkers! If you're into yoga, and parks, and maybe getting caught in the rain in sexy yoga pants, then tonight is your big night. Lululemon has rallied "the top yoga studios of New York City to bring you a yoga opportunity of a lifetime!" It's "Barefoot in the Park," a two hour mega yoga class, al fresco in Bryant Park. They've had these before, of course, but this one is highly anticipated as it's been endlessly rain delayed, involves more people, and it's also Lulu's first ever Yoga Tweet Up. Deep Yoga culture meets the Twitter phenomenon: Scream! Starts at 6 P.M., runs to 8 P.M. We have only one more thing to say: Ray Kelly, this is your big chance!

Our Small Patch of Astroturf
Sunset in Hudson River Park long ago, like yesterday, when it was still sunny. Cheer New York, a gay cheerleading squad, practices their moves. Around them on the astroturf, personal trainers from nearby gyms had also set up camp -- elastic bands, exercise balls and all -- and were open for business....

Yoga Missionaries Training in West Village
A recent non-rainy fternoon in the West Village, and women are gathered barefoot in front of Donna Karan's Village Zendo at 790 Greenwich Street. They are trainees in DK's new program to insert yoga into cancer treatment. The training is not a small deal: There are 200 hour and 500 hour courses, and the latter involves a silent meditation retreat, and altogether will set you back $7,500, unless you can score a scholarship....
If that's too much, here's another plan: Stop off at the Zendo on Friday for the "High Vibration Dance Class" taught by Gabriel Roth and Jonathan Horan. We've heard rumors of this class, and believe it's free and open to the public. That said, we've never been, and neither the Urban Zen Foundation, nor Gabriel and Jonathan's intriguing Burning Man-like 5Rhythms® Global web site offers much detail. Helpful people at the Zendo store will tell you it goes down on Tuesday and Friday evenings. On the site, however, only Fridays are listed, and there is no start time.... Hmm, worst case it's all a fiction, and you browse Donna's collection of organic safari outfits, pick up some essential oils, and go for a walk in the Hudson River Park...
