Elizabeth Neuse and Erin Teague in Baja, Mexico
B Yoga's Elizabeth (Ej) Neuse and Area Yoga's Erin Teague are leading a retreat at Prana Del Mar, a new beachfront eco-friendly resort in Baja for a week in February. I don't know Elizabeth's class, but Charity practices all the time with Erin in Brooklyn and swears she's amazing: "Her class is "straightforward, athletic vinyasa." And Elizabeth has worked at Yoga Journal, studied in India, Kerala and San Francisco, has a private practice, is certified in shiatsu and "neurolinguistic training." Not just your standard, super-healthy, dogmatic retreat setting— the website promises, in addition to twice daily yoga and organic meals—organic margaritas. Mellow Brooklyn yoga mixed with mellow Mexico utopia equals mellow amazingness. If you're mired in post-holiday blues, grab a boy/girl friend, hop on a plane, chataranga to your heart's content and have sex under the Baja stars.

Chill and Marvelously Affordable
Area Yoga is part of the Brooklyn Area kingdom, which spans from Brooklyn Heights to Carroll Gardens and includes a whole slew of shops: Area Kids, Area Play, Area Emporium and Spa, and Area Yoga and Baby. If you're new to the Brooklyn Area zone, we'll break it down for you: You're in the land of babies and yoga. Area Yoga has plenty to offer for the moms crowd, including prenatal classes and a fabulous "Yoga and Play" class, where kids 18 months to 4 years hang out in a supervised play space while parents practice yoga in the adjacent studio (cost: $150 for 6 weeks, one class per week). But it's not at all mom-exclusive.

Sarah's the bomb
Sarah teaches classes throughout the week at Area Yoga, but her Sunday evening class is especially fantastic. She focuses intensely on breathing. Where many instructors offer guidance on breathing through the first few asanas, assuming you'll remember from there, Sarah keeps your attention on inhaling and exhaling throughout the entire class, assuming (correctly!) that you need reminders.

Hey, Erin is my yoga teach at the 14th Street Y - she's fab!
