I'm not in on the challenge, but here are a few Paleo staples from my kitchen:
More...awesome breakfast
I am writing this post really just to gloat. I was VERY pleased with my breakfast this morning: 2 eggs + salsa, 1 strip bacon, and a whole avocado. Mmmmm.
sinister-looking home gym
This is the newest addition to the home gym: a rope!! We bought it at the hardware store to do rope pull ups. If you look closely, you can see the Concept 2 rower behind the weight rack on the carpet. Not pictured: barbell, weight, PVC pipes for warm-up and form work, 2 weight benches, another pull-up bar (buy-in to kitchen with pull-ups).
More...salmon to go
I've had a busy few days, so I'm playing a little catch-up now. Eating fish challenge: this will be easy! On Friday I work a night shift at the hospital as a student nurse, so I packed a salad in Tupperware along with one of those vacuum-packs of wild Alaska salmon. Simple, delicious, a little more $$ than tuna but a nice change.
More...pregame
Every CrossFit workout is a competition: against the clock, against your own personal best. 1 or 1.5 lbs turkey, ground
small onion, diced
clove or two of garlic, diced
half/whole bell pepper, diced
big can of diced tomatoes
can of pumpkin (pie filling aisle of supermarket)
More...i'm ba-ack!
Hey SW. I just signed up for the New Year's challenge, so I'm back after a bit of a hiatus. Last year at this time, I was sitting around feeling crappy after laparascopic surgery, on doctor's orders not to exercise. Right now, I'm about as fit as I've ever been, the year has been a healthy and victorious one (started nursing school!
More...to build a sweatlodge
This post is dedicated to msh, bikram-less in the Maine wilds. I haven't posted in ages, but don't worry, I am working out and working out hard. Here are some totally legit, tried-and-true instructions for building a sweat lodge. Seriously, I did this at camp in the nineties.
Need: hacksaw/hatchet, shovel, twine, match or flint, blankets or tarps, container of water
