in the quiet of the morning I reflect

Took a walk around 10 am to the farmer's market in my neighborhood. It's one of my favorite things to do.  Abundance of fresh, local fruits, veggies, mounds of tomatoes, peaches, chard and kale and bokchoy, radishes... colorful flowers, wild-caught fish, free-range eggs and turkey and chicken... heaven.  As I strolled the 10 or so blocks, I realized that a lot has changed over the past year.  There was a time in my life I wouldn't have walked "that far" and I wouldn't have wanted to carry the very heavy bags of my bounty.   I've been on a weight-loss-get-healthy-and-fit journey for over 2 1/2 years and have had lots of success (Have lost significant weight, exercised regularly, and all my "numbers" were in good ranges.  My doctors were happy).  What was different about this past year is that I kicked it up a notch.  Started paying attention to getting to bed earlier, and not staying up past exhaustion.  I upped my workouts to 5 a week - no ifs, ands or buts.  Three of those workouts are done in the early morning - before work.  (I NEVER thought I'd be that person. ) I've continued to lose weight, get strong, have more energy... but I also feel more relaxed and confident and independent.  So I enjoyed my stroll through my beautiful, tree-lined neighborhood in brooklyn, in the quiet of the morning...
