Liz Brings The Library To The Pool

- Liz!
We ask your fellow strivers in fitness personal questions, they boldly answer. Today's snapshot: Liz, aka lizh.
- What's your number one workout spot? At the moment it's the swimming pool at the community center right next door to the library I work at. It's pretty awesome. All the daycares and summer camps at the center use the pool too, and the kids freak out when I swim at the same time as them. "Miss Liz, what are you doing HERE?," "Lookit, Miss Liz, Look at me!," "Go Miss Liz!," and my personal favorite, "Hey! The library is here!"
- What's your secret (fitness-related) sin? I loath discomfort,so I tend to quit things when they get difficult. Or when the weather gets gross. Or when I'm tired. Or when I need a snack. I really lack stick-to-itiveness.
- What's the healthiest thing you eat? Masses and masses of fruits and vegetables. I build my meals around them and have even convinced my veggie-hating roommate that brussels sprouts and tomatoes are delicious.
- What do you wear to the gym? To the gym: my work clothes, since it's conveniently right next door. At the gym: my rapidly disintegrating badly-needs-replacing swimsuit.
- What's the best thing in your gym bag? My swim goggles. I have no idea what brand they are because the name has rubbed off, but they're the only ones I've ever found that fit my nose and seal properly. I'm going to cry when they eventually break.
- What's your go-to workout? Depends on the season. In spring and fall it's trying to build myself up to running 5k. In the summer it's building up to an hour of swimming. I never quite seem to get to either of those goals.
- What would you do (fitness-wise) if you had all the time and ability in the world? Take swimming classes and train enough to swim a decent butterfly. (Right now I look like I'm drowning when I try it).
- What are you just never going to try? Any diet that wants me to give up fruit, even for a little while, so as to limit carbs. Fruit is good for me!
- What superhero (real life or fictional) most inspires you? As a librarian, I am required to name Nancy Pearl. She has her own action figure and everything. (Seriously, there's a librarian action figure. It has Super Shushing powers).

"lack stick-to-itiveness" -- whatever, missy! You took all the lizzes for a run for their money during the inter-liz challenge because you worked out so much! Plus you said you can swim at least 1,000 meters w/o stopping -- that takes a lot of stick-to-itiveness too, if you ask me.

lol @ the butterfly. I also look like I'm drowning. Why is it so hard? I was on the swim team from ages 6-13 and still never got it.
