The Serena Williams Body Roller Coaster

Things that make me a little sad: Serena Williams telling Harper's Bazaar she didn't like her body growing up. "I'm super-curvy," she says. "I have big boobs and this massive butt. [Venus] is tall and she's like a model and she fits everything. I was growing up, wanting to be her, wanting to look like her, and I was always fitting in her clothes, but then one day I couldn't." Things that make me feel a littler better: Serena Williams telling Harper's Bazaar she's okay now:"Since I don't look like every other girl, it takes a while to be okay with that. To be different. But different is good."

But then the body roller coaster gets a little more complicated.

I'm back to being a little sad when she says she's been "trying to lean out my body so I won’t be bulky." Though I'm back to feeling a little better when she explains that she still eats cherry pie, it's just that she's also added a few Pilates and yoga sessions a week. Quote: "Pilates gave me results within a week."

So I should end up feeling good, I guess, cause Pilates, who can complain about someone adding Pilates? But, I just can't quite shake the feeling that Serena is trying to cookie-cutter herself, which is a little depressing (if she doesn't feel amazing in her body, what hope is there for the rest of us?), even if it's happy-Pilates that she's using...
