Playgrounds For Old People Run Into Curmudgeon Trouble

- Park (YA)
Remember how there's a new push to build playgrounds for old people in the U.K.? As in cross-trainers, sit-up benches, and crank bikes in public parks, just like monkey bars and slides, except adult-size? Well the very same fun and fitness-deprived adults for whom such projects were intended are now complaining. Residents of Canvey, England have filed a petition with the town council to move the £150,000's worth of recently installed cool equipment, citing "anti-social behavior" near the site. No specifics on the anti-social behavior were given. Cutting in line for the cross trainer? This is the problem with playgrounds for adults. Kids just shove each other and cry. Grumpy adults file petitions.

That's what happens when you build stuff on old people's lawns. :o)
