Workout Prescription Challenge Winners

Once again the competition was tough. Judges were more or less screaming at each other right up to the deadline. And then past it. Interestingly, many of our most inspiring workout prescriptions had less to do with specific exercise descriptions and rep counts than they did with capturing a feeling, or orchestrating a stage of life. Workouts seem to go with moods, and these may be fleeting, or last for months. As always, we want to thank all of our contributors for sharing, and we apologize for having only a single Fitbit to give away. (Almost certainly, we will revisit this program soon.) But without further ado....

Honorable mention in the HMSP Workout Rx challenge goes to joesgirl, who's Perfect Summer Sunday Workout had all the bounce and humor of a fully enlightened Sarah Jessica Parker. It was both practical and sublime, and we expect the lines at Virayoga and Morandi to be just a bit longer in coming weeks. The grand prize of one super-geeky Fitbit, however, goes to Starry04 whose Workout Prescription for a Broken Heart was a courageous offering to anyone quietly sweating his or her way through Trouble. More than one Social Workout reader may now drag themself off the couch for a cathartic Saturday evening workout thanks to Starry. Bravo to JoesGirl and Starry, and a serious thanks to all of our other contributors!

This brings us to the final phase of the Halfway Mark Stimulus Plan. Full details to come tomorrow, but as a sort of hors d'ouevre, we reiterate our Mlog Buddy Maneuver: Two supple Social Workout t-shirts will go to the first challenger and to his or her new-to-the-challenge buddy who collectively log 500 minutes this week. To bring this to our attention, please have your mlogbuddy introduce him or herself via workout post tagged  "mlogbuddy."
