Find a Pick Up Game Near You

- Whiffleball (via rochelle, et al)
This year marks the first in my entire life where I have lived by a park. And while this may not seem too interesting to you, as a homegrown Texan, parks populated by people are still pretty new and exciting to me, even if said people are lovely, dirty, tattooed hipsters. In honor of parks in general, and my wiffle ball pickup game midnight last Friday, I’ve got an exciting list of intramural pickup sites — from basketball to ultimate frisbee — you can use to rack up some intramural minutes this month, no long-term commitment required.
Intramural Pickup Online Hookups:
- Infinite Hoops has listings for pickup basketball games across the country.
- Socster has all your soccer needs coalesced into one website.
- Pickup Ultimate is not a fabulous pickup line compendium, but a place for all ye olde frisbee fans.
- Infinite Football has your football needs covered.
Unfortunately, probably because of court rentals, I couldn’t find anything for softball, but you can find useful information of pay-softball leagues here. Also, presumably for the same reason, I couldn’t find much on volleyball, but Central Park boasts a court. Does anyone else know where we can play? I’d be more than happy to be a pickup artist for New York Sports.

If you play street hockey (foot, not rollerblade), there are scrimmages every Wednesday and Thursday in the LES - message me for details. We play until the sun goes down, it's free, you just need to bring one white shirt or black shirt and you go to which ever team needs players.
Other places for almost any team sport: zogsports and meetup.com

To add to erikka's note: I've met some very nice people in zogsports, and they have kickball too!
Speaking of which, anyone wanna play a pickup kickball game in McCarren sometime? Preferrably before 12:30am, since that's when they shut down the lights.

I'd be in - just check the schedule since I know there's leagues on Sunday nights and one weeknight who get priority use of the field.
