Kaitlyn Swears By Brazilian Workout Wear

Kaitlyn!

Every day, we give you a snapshot of one fellow striver in fitness. We ask personal questions, he or she boldly answers. Today's snapshot: Kaitlyn.

  • What would you do if you had all the time/ability in the world? Easy! Swim with the dolphins off of Fernando de Neronah in Brazil, climb Mt. Kilamanjaro in Africa, and Machu Picchu in Peru.
  • What's the best thing in your gym bag? A dry pair of leggings and long sleeve T-Shirt. After a sweaty ride at Ride the Zone I am drenched; putting on dry clothing feels so good.
  • What do you wear to the gym? I wear workout clothing from Brazil. When I lived there a friend gave me a top and pants as a gift, and I haven't looked back. The clothes are designed for my height and proportions so they fit perfectly and they have a great selection of styles and color. The quality is excellent! A lot of what I wear now I've have had for many years. I have the same thoughts on Brazilan Bikinis; they design for all shapes and sizes and the cut flatters the figure so it shows what's beautiful in a woman's body.
  • What's your number one workout spot? Ride the Zone! The community at Ride the Zone is caring, supportive and down to earth. It's such a pleasure to begin my day there with Marion. Every inspirational word and challenging call out motivates me to take my ride outside of my comfort zone. The workout is intense and will give you great results. Marion is truly an incredible instructor and now, one of my favorite people on the planet.
  • What's you secret (fitness related) sin? I've become lazy about stretching and I need to turn that around pretty quickly.
  • What's your go to workout? Riding on the Real Ryder bike at Ride the Zone, ab and glute work at Physique 57, vinyasa yoga, and resorative yoga with Danielle Lee at Exhale.
  • What's the healthiest thing you eat? It's a toss up...I am kind of a health freak. I rotate my staple meals seasonly. In the winter I make a homemade oatmeal that is delicous and satisfying; I can last six solid hours without feeling hungry. Now that it's spring I've been mixing the 2% Greek yogurt with two tablespoons of flaxseed and chopped strawberries and blueberries. It is so yummy, I can eat this everyday spring, summer, and fall without getting bored. At night I tend to have a salad or a piece of fish. During the winter I do eat a lot of whole wheat pasta.
  • What are are you just never going to try? Never is a loaded word! Here are couple of things I probably will not do... That thing with the tongue to make you stop eating is something I cannot wrap my head around. Jumping out of a plane would be a be really scary.
  • What superhero most inspires you? Monica Ibeas de Souza. She is one of my dearest friends and a great role model. We met in Rio de Janeiro and clicked just like that. She is empathetic, warm and generous, a savy business woman, very stylish, a great mom and wife with a pretty intense fitness routine. About ten days ago, she placed second in the women's division of an Ironman. She's the best.

Man, I am with you on the skydiving thing.  Just the thought of doing it makes my eyes roll back into my head.  Also totally with you on Mt. Kilamanjaro & Machu Picchu - I would love to do that!
