Clarification please judges, final verdict on the pulls and dips??

So....I can't do real pull ups. I can't do real dips. I'm much closer to a real dip than I real pull up.

Before challenge: I could not even jump and hold on to pull up bar.

After Challenge: I can jump and hold on to bar for two seconds.

Before Challenge: I could do my baseline sets of assited pull ups at 80lbs and now I can at 60lbs- a great 20lb improvement. This is the same for the dips....

So...do I get the green check? I'm giving you my honest improvement on this one and you big the judge, big wigs at SW.

I put in my effort, and I got closer to the goal. The goal was just really not at all in my reach for acheivemnt in one month.

One day I'll get to that pull up...I don't know when...but It can happen. It will happen. For now, I'm done spending time on that damn assisted pull up machine- I have more interesting things to do with my body, like learn how to walk on water.

So with you on this one. & I realize I'm not even doing pull-ups but chin-ups. Oy. Soooo ready to move on. Although. one thing I've found helps for chin-ups. Start w/ a chair or stool so you don't need to kill yourself jumping up and start from the top of a normal chin-up bar so you can have your hands closer together than on the assisted machine. Try the "negative" chinup, but instead of lowering all the way, only lower to the point that you can pull yourself back up. This is how I did half chin-ups over the weekend, if that counts for anything. Happiness and thrills on your next endeavors!

i believe as long as you put in the 20 practice sessions you get the check mark!

I'm w you sass. I practiced and practiced and improved -- I can now go from hanging w straight arms to about 55 degrees at my elbow, whereas before I just sort of hung there like a limp noodle. But I just can't make the full pull up yet. It is disheartening to think this is the only thing that could keep us from finishing the challenge. So I am interested to hear what the judges say too.

I say count 'em, although I am not a judge.  I counted my 3/4 pullup with butt-assist (or "spot" as he preferred to call it) from my husband to get the rest of the way, and it was a vast improvement from where I started.

I had the same question and Charity confirmed that we do indeed count it if we got 20 training sessions in!

Yep, this is me, confirming once again. If you put in the work, you get the check!
