THE END OF SCALE AMNESTY; AN EARLY BIRTHDAY PRESENT
Today, I officially ended Scale Amnesty (haven't been on in over a month) and although the results were not pleasing, they also were not the disaster I feared. See, a couple of years ago, after a lifetime of yo-yo dieting, I finally got my act together and lost 130 pounds. I've more or less maintained that loss over the past year and a half ... well, at present I'd have to say "less", since I've gained some back. Still, I am in the same size jeans. Barely. But I am.
Regaining some weight is pretty normal, but I don't want to keep slipping. In fact, I want to lose more, and continue to shape up. So, I decided to start the Power 90 program. Three months of this workout/diet plan will take me right up to the week before my birthday. And this is my present to myself: on my next birthday, I want to be in the very best shape of my life.
Social Workout is turning out to be a big help to me on the fitness front, and I'm very grateful. Another thing that helps keep me motivated is my blog, www.TheNext100Pounds.com. I'll be writing in detail about my experience there, and posting pics, if anyone cares to check it out. Meanwhile, I'd love to hear from anyone else who has done the program.

I haven't done the program, but my brothers have, and they loved it! Btw, CONGRATULATIONS on keeping almost all of the weight off. That's huge. And I have this feeling it's going to be an awesome birthday for you!

130lbs is amazing! I'm on a 13lbs in 13 weeks kick at the moment, taking me up to a 10k run at the end of May - eek!
edit to add: Just had a look through your photos - even more amazing! You must look back with so much pride at how far you've come. ps. where did you get this dress?!

Congratulations on keeping most of the weight off! I like the way you use the scale...not as a torture tool but as a way to check in from time to time.

Thanks, y'all! Hubby and I are enjoying Power 90 so far. The cardio isn't that hard, though we're not doing it full-on quite yet. We haven't started the strength yet; still on Fat Burner which is a GREAT way to rev up and drop a little weight fast (I've lost three pounds in three days -- obviously you don't want to keep that rate up, but it always comes off fast in the beginning).
Hey, Cakeordeath, I'm training for a 10K in April! Woooot! We can cheer each other on! Thanks for your nice comments about my pics. Everybody loves that dress. I bought it for a concert I did with Andrea Bocelli and I've gotten so many compliments on it! Believe it or not, I got it at Dillard's.
Syrupandhoney, one of my friends taught me the trick about Scale Amnesty --- whenever it starts taking over my life, I take a step back for a while and try to guage how I'm doing by how my pants fit. I'd gotten into a rut for a long time and was scared to get on it. Happily, it wasn't as bad as I feared. Now I am excited to see how low I can go by my birthday!
