Newbie shooting for better things in 2010
Why am I here? Well... my life, right now, is all kinds of lackluster. I'm frustrated with my job, I'm feeling socially isolated and I'm seriously slacking when it comes to maintaining a good level of fitness. So I'm here because I need something positive, something to kick start me towards feeling alive again.
A friend raved about this site, noting that the accountability she felt to post and follow the challenges has really had a positive impact on her lately. Based on her enthusiasm for the challenges set up here, I'm excited to give this a try. :)
I hope the challenges inspire/hold me accountable to:
1) Take better care of myself (physically, mentally, and emotionally)
2) Find something that I am passionate about and follow that.
3) Take things one step at a time - maintain patience

It's weird, how I have gone on evening walks because I "had to get my steps" and started taking vitamins because I read a book about health as prescribed by the "spread the word" feat in the Emergency Holiday Challenge.
I've turned into a real fitness nut in the last two months. For serious. Good luck, habibti!

welcome! It's addictive (but in a good way). Makes you think twice before you do something (that might be "bad" for you) and helps you stay focused on the things you do want to do
