Post-Yoga Recovery Smoothie

Strawberries (via *clairity*)

Triathletes need recovery food, but guess what? So do yogis. Stan Woodman and Gina Norman, co-owners of Greenwich Yoga, have been working to design the fastest yoga recovery food around, and here's their best find to date: The "Asana" smoothie, made with sugar-free electrolytes, inflammation reducing flax oil, easily digestible and absorbable hemp protein, and a shot of vitamins, antioxidants, and potassium. They make it in the Kaia Café and Juice Bar at Greenwich Yoga, but you can make it at home. Recipe after the jump.

Get this:

Do this:

  • Take a yoga class
  • Place 1/2 a cup of strawberries, 1/2 a banana, a cup of rice milk, 1/2 a scoop electrolyte powder, 1 ounce flax oil, 1 ounce hemp protein, and 1 tbsp vitamin powder in a blender
  • Hit blend
  • Drink
  • See if you can feel the difference

I can't find it now but i recently saw a picture of a starwberry picker in the field:  he was dressed in a FULL HAZMAT SUIT!  Of course he was not a migrant worker - who cares about them?  (That's meant to be sardonic btw)  Yes, strawberries are Number 1 for pesticides so: organic?  Better believe it!
