Eis4Emily Capoeira Craziness Playlist

Feel the need to punch or kick or spin? Eis4Emily is here to help. Her playlist has all her Capoeira and Muay Thai favorites. "This is like the background music to my training montage," she says "You know the ones where you roundhouse bamboo stalks, trees and then train blindfolded." Why haven't you downloaded it yet?

[Ed note: A few of her favorite songs are too cool for iTunes, so be sure to read her full playlist notes and get the full scoop on where to track her tunes after the jump].

  1. "Zoom-Zoom-Zoom," Serapis Bay, Only The Strong Soundtrack. Some of you may recognize part of this song from the Mazda commercial...It's a traditional Capoeira song! Originally called "Capoeira Mata Um" but this is the version used in the Capoeira movie Only The Strong. It gets me hyped to play Capoeira, which is an awesome way to warm up.
  2. "Paranaue," Serapis Bay, Only The Strong Soundtrack. Another common Capoeira song also from the same soundtrack.
  3. "Looking for the Perfect Beat,"Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force, Planet Rock. This is great for jumping rope!
  4. "Get By," Talib Kweli, Quality. Almost a good 4 minute round for Muay Thai shadow boxing.
  5. "Get Ur Freak On," Missy Elliot feat. Nelly Furtado. Do a second 4 minute round of Muay Thai shadow boxing. Shadow boxing is a good way to keep your heart rate up.
  6. "Mama Said Knock You Out," L.L. Cool J. Classic for song boxing! I like it for bag work and basic boxing drills.
  7. "Da Mystery of Chessboxin,'" The Wu-tang Clan, Enter the Wu-tang (36 Chambers). I like this song for boxing speed drills and its also my favorite Hip-Hop album!
  8. "Nappy Heads," The Fugees, Blunted On Reality. Another great song to box to...
  9. "Fight To Survive," Stan Bush, Bloodsport Soundtrack. Channeling your inner JCVD (Jean Claude Van Damme) really gets me in the zone. Great for shadowing and thinking about counter attacks and blocks -its all about thinking..."what would JCVD do?" This is like the background music to my training montage...if I had one...you know the ones where you roundhouse bamboo stalks, trees and then train blindfolded. KICK ASS!
  10. "Blitzkrieg Bop," The Ramones, The Ramones. Since this song is so bouncy, I like it for incorporating Teeps (front kicks) into combos on the bag.
  11. "Girlfriend," Avril Lavigne, The Best Damn Thing. Roundhouse drills!
  12. "Lapdance," N.E.R.D., In Search Of Going all out on the bags and also speed and conditioning drills. Suicides and cat crawl drills.
  13. "Control Myself," L.L. Cool J feat. Jennifer Lopez, Todd Smith I often end a Muay Thai workout with running a little and I love this poppy song for running on the treadmill
  14. "Toy Soldier," Britney Spears, Blackout. Sorry, but Britney is AWESOME not just for flashing her hooo-nana, but for making songs that are great for running.
  15. "Wind It Up," Gwen Stefani, Sweet Escape. Inverval running.
  16. "Windows," N.E.R.D., Seeing Sounds Running cool down.
