Is there a race in your future? Perhaps you're training for your first New York Marathon, and secretly wondering -- in the quiet hours of the morning -- whether they'll really have the necessary resources to medi-vac you out of the Bronx in the event of massive cramping and dehydration. Or maybe you're just curious about where people go to the bathroom at dawn on Staten Island. You're in luck: Danielle Belopotosky at Gadgetwise, who is training for the Marathon, has compiled the short list of race info websites which will answer all your pre-race questions and concerns. In addition to two marathon-related mega sites, 2009 Marathon Guide by Runner's World, and MarathonGuide.com, she points out Racevine.com, a new site for user-generated reviews of races large and small, near and far. Racevine is all Web 2.0, user-generated goodnesss, allowing you to read whimsical, detailed accounts of water station quality and port-o-potties. Don't forget to actually train.
