Retreat Alerts & Hamptons Gossip

Raves from Tulum, Redux

"I just returned from Mexico, yes, with my health intact," emails C., a dear friend not inclined to grade inflation. "Spent the week with two of the BEST yoga instructors ever...." What do we have here? Swine flu be damned, it's another glowing retreat report from Tulum, Mexico. "Tulum is where it's at," says C. fresh from a week of asanas on the beach with Jessica Bellofatto and Jerry Bianchini. Who are these super gurus, and where can you find them? We did some research...

Jessica B., Jivamukti-trained "mother, yogini, doula and triathlete,"  teaches in New York at Pure Yoga and the Reebok Sports Club/NY. But she's a yoga celebrity of sorts in the Hamptons. She co-founded Yoga Shanti in Sag Harbor in 1999, and has just opened, like last week, KamaDeva, a new studio on Newtown Lane in East Hampton. She calls it "a small, blessed oasis of calm, strength, integrity and talent." (We thought those things disappeared from Newtwon Lane when the original Dreesen's closed.)

As for Jerry B.: He appears to be a YogaWorks guy, but you can catch him with Jessica this summer at KamaDeva. OR, sign up now for their October return to the Casa de Miel.
