TOXIC

4.2.09 - Beaverton, OR. It's Master Cleanse time, baby. I've had enough of these weird, toxic, yucky feelings inside my body that sometimes only a cleanse can clear. 10 days of lemons, water, maple syrup and cayenne pepper is not ideal, but the feeling when you're done is worth it. Clean, accomplished, glowing, focused, lean.

Starting on the same day as the BOW Challenge, it's my own double challenge!

I was thinking of giving the master cleanse a try - thanks for the reminder

Can you work out while doing a cleanse? This seems a bit dangerous, but I have no idea.

I did master cleanse a few years ago. Mine lasted 12 days. I was able to do light workouts (mostly restrained cardio sessions) but I don't recommend anything too strenuous while on it. Specifically, I wouldn't do much lifting or toning (if any) because it will take you FOREVER to recover. Around the 4th day of the cleanse I did legs for about 45 minutes. It took nearly a week to recover.

Also, if you've done the cleanse before you know you'll regain the weight almost instantly after you start eating again. After the cleanse I went to 800cal/day for a week and then up to 1200cal/day. Within 2 weeks I had gained everything back that I lost on the cleanse.

I've done it for 10 days. It definitely works, but not sure how safe. There are a lot of mixed opinions on it. I don't think I would do it again, but knowing me anything is possible. Let me also recommend Dr. Ian's Fat Smash diet. Its a sure thing, if you follow it. This is the guy that did Celebrity Fit Club on VH1. I have been someone on it for three weeks now and have lost a significant amount of weight. The cover says 12 pounds in 3 weeks. Good luck.

i have to say...i think the master clense is just another term for two weeks of anorexia. you're better off taking the calories in the maple syrup and putting them into veggies or lean protein.
